  • News über Patch 1.6

    Dear C&C Generals players,

    Just another short update for everyone.

    1. QuickMatch: We’ve done significant investigation and are still looking at the matchbot. We’ll have more on this later. In the meantime we’ve doubled our efforts to make sure that, if the server does fail, proper steps are taken to quickly get it back into service. We’re quite aware that it stinks when players look forward to playing and it doesn’t work. We’re watching it closely.

    2. Patch 1.6: Still working on this…nothing to add right now…Previously…Not too many specifics at this time – other than that we plan on releasing one. The driving issue is how the game specifies ports for firewalls. There is a bug in this code that prevents some players from reliably setting ports in some instances. This should offer more reliable work arounds so most players can play games over Generals Online. There are also some balance tweaks (some are unit bugs) we’re looking to do but we’ll have more info on this later. We also hope to include some more multiplayer/skirmish maps. No release date yet but we expect to see it in the next few weeks.

    3. Ladder Kit: Still working on this…nothing to add right now…Previously…This is in testing but other things are taking priority – primarily things noted in #2. We ARE working on it and it will come out asap.

    4. Contests: Col Burt has started the trivia contest. Check out the message in the online welcome screen to see more.

    5. Mismatch: We are continuing to evaluate. Thanks for all the helpful info everyone has posted. We will be disabling F4 in 1.6. This should help a bit too. While we’re still looking for a problem in the code, mismatches can also be caused by an opponent forcing a cheat…thus a mismatch. Either way, we’re continuing to look.

  • Anmeldung für das offizielle Foren Turnier ist vorbei

    Martinator und sein Team von den [URL=http://messagebrd.westwood.ea.com/cgi-bin/boards/gen-deutsch/ultimatebb.cgi]offiziellen deutschen Generals Foren[/URL] haben nun alle 32 Teilnehmer, dennoch kann man sich weiter anmelden, denn es kommt ja ab und zu vor, dass jemand auf einmal nicht kann und dann braucht man Spieler die nachrutschen, ansonsten würde ja das ganze KO-Turniersystem zusammenbrechen. Also, alle Anmeldungen gehen jetzt automatisch in eine Nachrutschliste, aber erwartet nicht zuviel.

  • Board-Turnier des offiziellen deutschen EA CnC Generals Forums

    Das offizielle Generals Board veranstaltet ein Generals Turnier. Das 1 on 1 Turnier startet am 9.5.2003 und endet am 11.5.2003, es können sich bis zu 32 Spielern anmelden. Die Anmeldung erfolgt nach dem Prinzip „Wer zuerst kommt malt zuerst!“ Also solltet ihr euch schnell anmelden um die schönen Preise abzustauben von denen ihr auf der [URL=http://the_black_shadows.cdaweb.de/Turnier/main.php]Turnier Page[/URL] einige Bilder und Informationen bekommt.

  • Nova World War 3: Neuer Screenshot

    Vor ein paar Tagen haben wir euch ja schon vom neuen Mod, Nova World War 3, erzählt. Nun ist erneut ein Screenshot aufgetaucht, den wir euch nicht vorenthalten wollen. Hier sieht man ein neues Flugzeug, der auf Seiten der Amerikaner in die Luft gehen wird.

    Generals.at hat eine online-petition für eine bessere Lobby in Generals gestartet.
    Sie wollen damit bezwecken das die Lobby nicht per Gamespy läuft sondern so in der art wie WOL damals. Genauere änderungsvorschläge findet ihr auf generals.at

  • Patch 1.6 im Gange

    Ja, wie der Titel schon sagt, ist der Patch 1.6 im vollem Gange. EA tüftelt weiter an vorhandenen Bugs und will den Gamern besseren Support liefern.
    Auf dem offiziellen Generals Board befinden sich diesbezüglich zwei Kommentare:

    [I]Hello Guys and Gals,

    Just wanted to let you know that we are still working hard on patch 1.6.

    Let me recap what’s being worked on:

    We are testing the firewall/router fix that I had mentioned before. We believe that the problem lies within editing the options.ini file. If everything works out the way we suspect, this fix should be of great help to those whose routers/firewalls don’t work with Generals by default. I don’t want to go into a lot of detail here until I have more definite information about the fix and that it will actually cure the problems that we are hoping it will.

    We are still looking at the Data Mismatch issue. We’ve received some replays that were submitted by players within the same game and are in the process of reviewing them. I’ve forwarded the information that many of you have contributed here. A lot of you seem to think that it’s related to selling a Command Center that is under attack which we’ll be looking at.

    There is also a list of gameplay issues that we’re addressing as well.     Please be patient as we are taking more time with this patch to allow for more fixes. I know that these are trying times for those of you that are awaiting some of these fixes, but be assured that we are working on them.
