Wie Shanahan-EA über E-Mail mitteilte, wird der Versand der Generals Beta CD’s sich leider um einige wenige Tage verschieben.

All of the acceptance e-mails have been sent out, congratulations to those
who made it!

As you know from my previous postings, it was a huge task just to sift
through all the registrations, checking for bad information, multiple
signups, and invalid mailing addresses, so thank you for your patience. Most
everyone filled out the application correctly but there were a few that
forgot vital information such as e-mail address or mailing address…DOH!

While I was narrowing down the final participants, I asked the team if they
wanted some extra time to spit shine a few features and double time some
last minute balance changes before the official public inspection by you,
the newly recruited Generals. Being the passionate professionals they are,
the resounding answer was „YES!“, their dedication to give you the best
possible experience has gone beyond the call of duty . Each and every one of
the team members has been working through lunch and staying late on their
own accord just because they really believe in giving you the best
experience possible.

„So Shan, what does all this mean?“…glad you asked. What it means is while
I finish up with the Senior Admissions Officer of the GIA (yes, those agency
folk are slow) they are going to finish polishing/balancing a few things, so
I will have the discs out to you a few days later than expected. I will keep
you updated daily on the progress and let you know when the first stage of
mailed discs is ready to go.

Once again, thank you for your patience and I know once you see the game you
will forgive me for making you wait a bit longer! 🙂

Ich glaube das letztenendes gerecht und fair verteilt bzw. ausgelost worden ist.
Für unsere Beta Versionen von Generals möchten wir uns hier auch noch einmal recht herzlich bedanken!

1. Will we have to register our clans and if so, how will we go about it?
A. Through a system similar to what’s in place for RA2/Yuri.

2. Will there be fan ladder kits specifically for clan ladders or will the standard/only kit have support for clans?
A. The ladder kits will be a generalized kit for everyone, but you can customize it to your liking.

3. Will there be a broadcast messaging mode to send a msg to all clan members automatically with only one instance of the message?
A. Yes.

4. Although 4v4 is nice, I was hoping for some 5v5 and 6v6 like in that War Ship, Crate, Crap, whats it’s face game by Blizzard lol. So is the game still topped off at 4v4?
A. Yep, still 4v4

5. Are you in a clan specifically for Westwood or EA Pacific employees or something?
A. Yes, a Westwood clan.

CNCSAGA: How many musical tracks will be including in the multiplayer test ?
Delphi: There will be a few scores to help keep the pace of battle.

CNCSAGA: Is the installation program for the multiplayer test identical to that of the final game?
Delphi: No

CNCSAGA: Will the game include a command to make screenshots? Or is it necessary to use that built in to Windows?
Delphi: Yes, but it will be disabled until the NDA is lifted.

CNCSAGA: How many persons registered for the test?
Delphi :Hehe, cannot say at this time.

CNCSAGA: A date for the editor of maps?
Delphi: 1 month before the game ships.

CNCSAGA: Always no news of Westwood?
Delphi: We (Westwood) have a secret project fans from all around the world will be wanting to hear about. All in due time though…

Hehe…ok, so after a weekend of pushing through all the applicants we are almost ready to send the acceptance e-mails. I am just waiting a list or two from our overseas headquarters, so as soon as I get it into my little hands I will send them out!

While I wait for them to arrive, I figured I would post Shanahans Top 5 List of things that I noticed while sorting all the applications:

# 5 – Contrary to popular belief, „Akjdfujfsd Isxghdfj“ is not a valide first and last name.

#4 – Even though I am good, no matter how hard I try I cannot use my telekentic powers to magically fill in the address section when you leave it blank.

#3 – Leaving the „System Specs“ section blank is a bad thing.

#2 – Surprising how many applications that came from the same address/IP had 50+ year old parents that wanted to get into the MP test.

#1 – Until science invents a matter transporter your E-mail is not a substitute for a mailing address

Demnach sagt er, dass nur noch zwei Listen aus Übersee den Versand der Bestätigungs- E-Mails verhindern. Lange kann es jedoch nicht mehr dauern.
