Second, Red Alert 3 right now is running off of SAGE and the visuals you see are at a minimum on par with C&C 3.

Like I said in an earlier thread…Dustin Browder has never worked on the Red Alert 3 you see today and hasn’t worked on an EALA RTS project since BFME1. He has many friends still at EALA, including myself, and is happy over at Blizzard on SC2 as their lead designer, we wish him the best as always.

Second, Red Alert 3 right now is running off of SAGE and the visuals you see are at a minimum on par with C&C 3.

That said, what you’ll see in the coming months is a major transgression in visual upgrades. Our visuals have always been top notch with the rest (save for COH who goes realism hardcore)…and you should expect the same for Red Alert 3. We’re doing a lot of enhancements to effects, water, lighting, etc that you can’t see fully in these screenshots just yet. We’ve already done a ton of upgrades since we took these screens. I personally took these screenshots with producer Greg Kasavin, so trust me please, i know this game intimately right now and it is looking very next-gen in its current state.

And lets be honest here, its about gameplay first! You guys have always loved our pretty visuals, but many of you who play multiplayer turn them down anyways, especially pro players who don’t like effects getting in their way.

These are early screens, as is always the case with the 1st reveal on a game, its early development time.

Red Alert 3 has been in development for a while, our focus first and foremost was on building all of our units to a 1.0 stage so we can test multiplayer VERY early, which we can now. We’re already balancing.

Now we can start to focus on visual upgrades, visual upgrades to units specifically, and many other cool things.

We have a core game, the heart and fundamentals if you will, now its time to build the main core around it.

Its a good day to be a Red Alert fan, it’ll be even better when you’re in the beta this summer.

You’ll see lots of transgression over the coming months.

Thanks,
APOC
